Researchers Discover that Timing Is the Missing Key To Health and Weight Loss

Researchers are finding that timing has been the missing key to weight loss. Chronobiologists (biologists who study the cyclicality of all of nature and animals) are finding that everything in our bodies is cyclical. From our sleep, our cells’ activity in our gut, our organs, our digestion, everything going on in our bodies happens in cycles. The biggest dictator that operates these cycles is light from the sun.

So how can this help us be healthier?

We can adjust the timing of things in our daily life in order to get healthier so much faster and lose weight quicker. We can adjust our sleep, our screen time, our workouts, our mindful practices, and our meal times. If we align all of these things in accordance with our body’s natural cycles, then our bodies get into shape very quickly. Our body also will tone up quicker, have more energy, sleep better, digest better, and lose weight quicker.

I used to work out at 7 o’clock at night because I was off of work and I saw no issues with that. Until I learned that working out should be done as early in the morning as possible because working out generates heat in our body, gives us energy, and gets us hungry. No wonder I could not fall asleep until late into the night! I was getting my body hot, energized, and hungry at the time of day when I was supposed to be winding down to relax!

When I started working out first thing in the morning, it gave me more energy, got me perked up for the day, and got me hungry for breakfast and breakfast is a really important meal. Fasting is best done in the evening.

I used to have my biggest meal at dinner until I learned that our digestion is the most active at noon during the day. This is when the sun is highest and when we usually have the most energy in our day.

I used to eat past 6:30 pm some days on busy days until I learned that we want to give our bodies 5 hours or longer between our last meal and falling asleep. Because when we digest our food our body is working and expending energy to do so which will take away from our sleep.

We’ve all heard of the concept of ditching screens 2 hours before bed but how many of us actually have tried this? I did and it made such a big difference for my sleep. I would instead read, write, take a bath, or go for walks the last 2 hours of my day before bed and it helped me feel so much more at peace.

These findings are based off of Ayurveda, a 6,000-year old health system that is based off of balance being the key to health.

To learn the exact methods to craft the perfect daily routine for optimum health based on the cyclicality of your body, grab the book Change Your Schedule, Change Your Life.
