One of the Most Powerful Guided Meditations You Can Do: Your Own - Here’s How
Years ago, I was introduced to this idea of creating your own guided meditation. I was surprised as I had never known someone could do this yet the idea already sounded very powerful and customized to my own life and situation at the time.
So I tried it out.
I started recording my own voice saying affirmations and guiding myself into deeper relaxation. You might be weirded out by this idea at first, but you might also be surprised at how well it works once you start intuitively creating your own meditation.
Think about what you need to hear right now. What helps you drop into a more calm, relaxed state.
Whatever affirmations or things you tell yourself in this meditation are very powerful because only YOU know exactly what you are going through right now and what words you need to hear.
Here are some tips for creating your own guided meditation:
Think about the life areas you want to improve right now, and give yourself the reassurance you need.
Some examples:
“I am working on getting back into alignment with my career, and I WILL find the right path for me.”
“I am choosing to be more mindful with my finances by checking my accounts daily and being intentional about what I spend.”
“I am getting healthier, stronger, and more energized every single day.”
“I am choosing to make my day a good day, as each new day is a new life.”
“I am so grateful for the relationships I have in my life.”
“I am in control of my thoughts, emotions, and mindset, and I choose to make today a good day.”
“I am practicing better work/life balance and getting to a place with more peace and less overwhelm.”
You get the idea!
Once you get going with this, it will get easier and easier.
On my morning walk the other day, I created an affirmation meditation (with some pauses between affirmations to integrate and really FEEL what I was saying), and it ended up being 5 minutes long! I listened to it again on my walk after I recorded it, and honestly, it made me feel really damn good and was a perfect start to my day.
Sometimes we need our OWN reminders and reassurances. Sometimes we need to hear this from our own voices. From a part of us that is grounded, calm, confident, loving, reassuring, hopeful, and happy.
Try creating your own mediation by recording yourself on your phone and see how it feels.
