3 Ways to Find More Time in Your Busy Life
Someone requested I share more about finding more time in our busy lives. But the truth is this:
There is no such thing as “finding time” BUT there is such a thing as creating more space with the same amount of time that we all have.
Since we all have the same amount of time in the day, we must remember that 24 hours is the great equalizer. It’s not that time is the problem, it’s that WE are filling up our time with too many things, or perhaps we aren’t prioritizing the right things and that is filling up our time - or both.
So today I have for you 3 ways to create more time:
TIP # 1:
Wake up earlier. I’m not saying to get too little of sleep because that’s not healthy, but what you can do is download an app called Sleep Cycle. It will record your breathing and track your REM cycles. It will tell you how much sleep your unique body needs - I learned I THRIVE off 6 hours, if I get any more than that I sleep in.
Then you can start figuring out what time to go to sleep and what time to wake up in order to hit the sleep goal that is best for your unique body.
TIP # 2:
De-clutter, cut back, reduce, and simplify like a crazy person in all ways possible. I would go through all your to-do’s, the physical clutter in your home, the digital clutter on your devices, get rid of things, obligations, subscriptions, and anything that doesn’t bring serious value to your life.
This will get you back more time, peace, and space in your life. As you will notice if we have a cluttered schedule we have a cluttered mind, and vice versa.
TIP # 3:
See where you can outsource. Even simple things like maybe having the kiddos do the dishes or hiring the neighborhood kid to care for the lawn or one of those delicious meal subscription boxes a couple nights per week to get back some more time.
Make a list of the most time-consuming things in your schedule and start seeing where you can outsource.
These tactics may sound simple at first, but the smallest shifts tend to make the biggest difference.
As with any new thing you try, to see if it is working for you, try it over time and document how it goes.
If these things work, keep ‘em, if they don’t, toss ‘em! Hope you find this helpful! Remember that you have the power to create more space in the time you have that everyone else has.
You have filled up your time & schedule, but you can cut it back again, it’s all up to you!
