three powerful tools for air & fire signs
Focus, simplicity, and grounding are your friends
I say this because as a fire sign I have the most energy out of all the signs. And like the air signs, I can be a little bit all over the place! Sometimes even like my thoughts are spiraling a million miles an hour and I could explode at any random moment. What has helped me the most is staying consistent with my routines, reminding myself that simplicity is my friend, and realizing that focus is not always my strong suit so to practice strengthening it.
I’m sure air signs can relate, but as a fire sign - and a Sagittarius - sometimes I literally want to do it all at once! And that is just not possible. Here are some tips for my fellow fire signs and I’m sure they could easily apply to air signs as well;
Having a planner and setting alarms will save your life
This has helped me so much, because my mind goes so fast and thinks so many thoughts, I often completely forget things. Like really often. *The grounding techniques below will help with this too. It keeps me organized, helps me focus, and reminds me of things coming up that I may otherwise forget. It also helps me focus on being more efficient with my planning and keeping up with my goals, as I often will get distracted by things. Not squirrels per say, but definitely a new hobby such as essential oil candle-making!
Having alarm clocks also help me a lot. Since I schedule sessions with clients and sometimes am being the one coached, alarms help me a lot. I also set alarms for reminders to do things like taking out the trash on Sunday nights otherwise I will forget. I also set alarms for events, reminders, things like that.
Carrying around a mini notebook
Writing out to-do lists and to-get lists help me so much to get everything in my mind out and onto paper. I use this mini notebook for grocery lists too, as I like to sit down, chill out, and plan my week or so of meals. *I also cycle sync with my eating so meal planning is pretty much required, more info under the E-Guides tab on how to cycle sync to heal all PMS. Not everything has to be done at once, or even soon, but writing things down helps me keep track of what we need to get, what needs to get done, and what things to remember. Everything from a shower head replacement cartridge to dish towels to bills & financial planning to clothing. Writing it all out helps clear our minds, remind us of what to do, and keep us more organized and focused.
A giant dry erase calendar
This will help a lot with events, bills coming up, plans that were made, coaching sessions scheduled, trips, etc. I also have used it to keep track of when to buy new shower filter cartridges, when I started my hair detoxes, what period phases I will be in for the entire month, and more. It’s also another giant reminder of what is going on for the month and helps keep me on track with everything.
Grounding techniques to choose from
You know me….of course I am going to automatically and most importantly say yoga and meditation daily! They could even be short sessions, but doing these things first thing in the morning are wonderful ways to get grounded, get clear, set intentions for the day ahead, and refresh our body, mind, and soul.
Usually I only do 15 minutes of meditation in the morning, and anywhere from 15 minutes to 30 minutes of Yin yoga. Yin is so perfect for the morning because it is a stressing of our muscles, ligaments, tendons, and fascia (the small fibers within and all around all of our muscles) while our bodies are not warmed up from the day or exercise. It also glides us smoothly from waking up state to more wakeful, relaxed, ready for the day sort of state. Yoga with Kassandra on YouTube has many wonderful short yin yoga sequences. And Meditative Mind has some really chill music to meditate too with different Hz frequencies for different goals and chakra balancing.
Other ways for morning grounding
Journaling, breathwork, crystal work, essential oils, general stretching, taking a walk, making art in whatever form, or making to-do lists for the day. Any other ways you can think of that personally chill you out, refocus you, reset you for the day.
Night grounding
Doing a grounding technique for the night is really beneficial too as it can clear away the energy from the day and create a more harmonious state before sleeping. Any of the things mentioned above and also taking a bath, salt bath, salt foot bath. Salt baths with actual salt or sea salt - not epsom - literally cleanse our energy and are great before bed or for general releasing and healing. *Thank you Divine Feminine Life Coach
Where most overwhelm may be coming from
I personally think overwhelm comes from overcomplication. Overstimulation, too many external stimuli, perhaps too much self-help, too many books being read, too many new lessons and practices being implemented, too much going on at once, too many events planned, too many things on the to-do list for work. I think coming back to simplicity can really help us with this. With the internet and everyone putting all of their insight, wisdom, knowledge, guidance, and suggestions out there it is way too easy to become overwhelmed and find yourself trying to do it all.
Ask yourself and reflect; what works for you? What do you actually want to commit to doing every single day or every single week? Maybe a social media break would be good or only utilizing a few things that have a lasting impression on you in terms of work, practices, routines, etc. Simplifying things will definitely take the load off and actually allow us to get more done. Overwhelm can lead to analysis paralysis and perfectionism can sometimes be the enemy of progress.
Balancing the Masculine and Feminine energy aka the Yin and the Yang
I absolutely feel that with air and fire signs we have way more masculine energy than the other two types of Zodiac signs. So things like slowing down, embracing our feminine side, being alone, taking baths, going into nature, meditation, yoga, crystal work, breath work, things like this will naturally balance out that surge of masculine energy with the feminine energy. It’s best to aim for a healthy balance of both. Anything that slows down your thoughts is grounding and more feminine to you.
Mirror messages & affirmations
Sometimes I feel there are so many things I have to remember, ways I want to be, things I am working on within myself that I literally forget them altogether and go throughout my day on autopilot. What can help with this is writing down, or printing out, reminders, messages to yourself, and affirmations in the bathroom where you will see them every day. Keeping it simple, seeing it every day, and having those reminders will really help hone in what you are currently working on. Whether it is shadow work, reminders for your thought patterns, ways you want to be, limiting beliefs that you are shifting, or things you are working on manifesting currently. This will simplify those desires, remind you of them, and not take any work on your part besides reading them while you brush your teeth. They are a great pick-me-up too!
Here are my latest mirror messages;
my reaction is my decision - my emotions are my responsibility - think beyond what you feel - organic gratitude - you are ready - embrace simultaneous growth - work your light daily - tomorrow is a new day - call in your guides - lighten up - focus on you - mind yo biz - have more fun - hope & grace
