How Embracing “the bad” in Life Will Benefit You
There is goodness, a sweet release, a cozy comfort, a subtle delicious feeling of surrender when it comes to misery…
The feelings of lack, desperation, loss of control…
Destruction, self-doubt, anger, sadness…
Overwhelm, stress, energy rising like a tea kettle about to explode…
We all want it. If we didn’t, we wouldn’t have come to earth to experience it.
Because we didn’t just come here for the good, we came here for the bad too.
And even if you aren’t spiritual and don’t believe you chose to come here, you are still here..and it’s still inevitable that you will (hopefully) dance between the good, the bad, and the neutrality that is human life...
What happens if we happily embrace “the bad?” Pure magic, because:
When we give in to “the bad”, it feels less bad. Living proof from famous teachers:
“The moment you accept your non-peace, it is transmuted into peace,” internationally recognized spiritual teacher Eckhart Tolle claims.
“Subconsciously we want the bad, and the more we recognize and happily rejoice in that, the less the bad comes around,” expresses Existential Kink author Carolyn Elliot.
“The cave you fear to enter might hold the light you seek,” write famous poet Rumi.
Information & questions to reflect on:
There is a theme here. Do you see it? What benefits might “the bad” actually bring you?
Being cozy? Resting? Relief of effort? Receiving attention? Surrender into self-sabotaging behavior that kinda feels good? The final release off pressure through extreme emotional expression? I invite you to marinate on this…
